Enrollment Information For IGETC/CalGETC Transfers

  • If you have completed IGETC/CalGETC, MCWP-125/R will fulfill the writing requirement. MCWP-125/R is designed for transfer students. MCWP-050/R may be used in lieu of MCWP-125/R.
  • All students with IGETC/CalGETC on their UC San Diego academic record will be preauthorized to book MCWP-125/R in their first pass during their first 3 quarters at UC San Diego. They will not be able to enroll in MCWP-050/R until the following summer.
  • Starting with enrollment for the summer (or next term) after their 3rd quarter, these students will be preauthorized for MCWP-125/R and 050/R in their second pass.
  • If you think you have IGETC or CalGETC, and it's not on your UC San Diego academic record, contact UC San Diego Admissions and/or your community college. You will not be able to enroll in MCWP-125 until your IGETC has been posted.
  • IF YOU DO NOT ENROLL IN MCWP 125/R IN YOUR FIRST PASS DURING YOUR FIRST 3 QUARTERS, YOU MAY ONLY ENROLL IN MCWP 125/R OR 50/R DURING YOUR SECOND PASS. This means you will likely be trying to get in from a waitlist.
