Student well-being is an important part of being a successful student, and Muir Student Affairs is here to help you when you need it. We work with students experiencing barriers to their well-being and success. Here are resources available to support students throughout their academic journey.

Student Assistance & Support

College is hard enough, but sometimes life happens and makes things even more challenging.  Muir Student Affairs is here to support and assist you in your time of need.  We can assist with any of the following types of issues:

  • Personal emergency that is impacting your academics 
  • Illness or medical issues
  • Food or housing instability
  • Access to health care, including mental health services

For example, if you experience a personal emergency, we can contact your instructors on your behalf and connect you to both campus and community resources.

If this is a life threatening emergency or if anyone is in immediate danger, please call 911.

Student Health & Well-Being

The Hub Basic Needs Center

The Hub Basic Needs Center helps support students in their access to stable housing, nutritious food, and financial resources.

The Zone

The Zone is a community lounge space that provides programs, services, and activities that promote well-being. Free programs offered by the Zone include:
  • Art & Soul
  • Career Development
  • Financial Literacy
  • Healthy Cooking Demos
  • Active Well-Being
  • Tea Time
  • Therapy Fluffies

Personal Safety

There are a number of services that promote Personal Safety for UC San Diego students, such as the Community Safety Officer safety escort program and Triton Alert emergency notifications.

CARE at SARC: Campus Advocacy, Resources, and Education at the Sexual Assault Resource Center

CARE at SARC is a confidential advocacy and education office for sexual violence and gender-based violence (dating violence, domestic violence, and stalking).

CARE provides violence prevention education for the entire UCSD campus and offers free and confidential services for students, staff and faculty impacted by sexual assault, relationship violence, and stalking.
