We are excited to help you become acclimated to Muir College at UC San Diego and answer many of your questions. To aid you in your transition, we have worked closely with our partners within the College to provide you with the following webinars that will help get you ready to join our community.

Summer Webinars for New Students

An email was sent to students via their UC San Diego email address with information, including the registration links, for all webinars.

Student Life at Muir
Muir College Coordinator of Student Activities, Kaylee Howard, and Interim Assistant Dean of Student Affairs, justin glover, talk about the variety of ways you can be engaged with Muir College from day one and answer your questions about involvement. You will learn about Muir College Welcome Week activities, our unique Pathways to Leadership program, and how to identify your own ways to be involved in Muir College. 

 

Living at Muir
Are you living on campus? Learn the ins and outs of Residence Life and gain an understanding of housing for students at Muir College. We will cover everything you need to know about the move-in process and how to plan for your arrival. This session will be facilitated by the Director of Residence Life, Dra. Sonia Rosado, and the Assistant Directors of Residence Life, Daniel Clark and Michael Vallejo.

 

 Family Orientation
Going off to college is an exciting time for students and their families. This milestone is a big transition, and this session is intended for families to learn more about what to expect during your student’s first year at UC San Diego. You will connect with Muir College staff and learn important information about services and resources available to you and your student. This session will be facilitated by Jason Thibodeaux, Dean of Student Affairs.

 

Orientación Familiar en Español - Spanish Language Family Orientation
Ir a la universidad es una etapa emocionante para los estudiantes y sus familias. Este momento es una gran transición, para todos. Esta presentación se dedicará a las familias de los estudiantes para que aprendan más sobre lo que se esperar durante el primer año de escuela en UC San Diego. Se conectará con el personal de Muir College y aprenderá información importante sobre los servicios y recursos disponibles para usted y su estudiante.

No. All webinars listed on this page are optional to attend, although we highly encourage you to attend as many as you are able to continue to get to know the Muir community before your arrival for your in-person orientation session.
