Event & Program Committees

From the campus-wide Triton day, to our annual week-long celebration of our founder, John Muir, Muir College's committees work to plan many events and activities throughout the year.  Take a look at our current committees below and find out how to get involved!

Triton Day Committee

The Triton Day Committee organizes an all-day extravaganza to inform prospective Muirons about the college.  The committee plans the entire day’s schedule which typically includes tours, outdoor activities, entertainment, and information sessions. The Triton Day Committee begins meeting during the Winter quarter.

Celebrating John Muir Week/Muirstock Committee

Get down to your roots and be part of the Celebrating John Muir Week/Muirstock committee!  Help plan a series of activities in celebration of John Muir's birthday and his legacy as an environmentalist – and make the week fun and meaningful for Muir.  Celebrating John Muir Week coincides with Earth Week and culminates with Muir's annual music festival, Muirstock. Muirstock is an all-day festival and concert held every spring.  Members of the committee secure funding, select bands, set up day-time activities, and run the show.  Past bands have included: Lit, the Aquabats, Yellowcard, Sugarcult, Rooney, Finch, Sherwood, Clara C., and Lady Danville. The joint committee will begin meeting at the start of the Fall quarter.
