Dear Prof.

I know that it's been a long time since we last spoke, but I have felt the need lately to send a note to you (and indirectly the Critical Gender Studies department) letting you know how meaningful my undergraduate experience was for me.

I just finished teaching my first year of high school near Redlands. When it came time to teach about "Feminism" in my text book, I told the students to read the paragraph on the movement (yes, there was only 1 paragraph) and then I told them to put the book away because it was meaningless. I instead taught them the differences between radical, liberal, cultural, socialist, and ecofeminists. Suffice it to say, my students received more information on the feminist movement(s) than any high school students had ever received at Yucaipa High School... it felt great to be able to speak with such authority on Gender Studies 101. =o)
