Where is the Muir Academic Advising Office?

The Muir Academic Advising Office is located in Humanities and Social Science Building (HSS) 2126. The office phone number is (858) 534-3580. The office hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon and 1:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.

I would like to see an Academic Advisor. When and where can I do this?

We have two types of advising options in the Muir Academic Advising Office, located in H&SS 2126 - "Express 15" and "Appointments."

"Express 15 " are for those who...
1. Need to discuss next quarter's scheduling
2. Want to discuss adding or dropping a class
3. Need clarification of General Education requirements
4. Need clarification of major requirements
5. Have other immediate concerns

"Appointments" are for those who...
1. Need a degree check and printout
2. Want to discuss major options and requirements
3. Want to discuss minor options or requirements
4. Have an academic hold or are in academic difficulty
5. Have other long-term concerns
(i.e. study abroad, exchange programs, internships, independent research etc.)

"Express 15 " Advising Hours are usually 8:30 to 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. Walk-ins are available Welcome Week, as well as Weeks 1, 6, 7, 8 and 9.

"Appointments" can be scheduled on the half hour from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. and 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. To make an appointment please call our office at: (858) 534-3580.
