Readmission

If you have been away from Muir for two quarters or more and are no longer an active student, you will need to follow the instructions below to return to being an active Muir student.

Please note that if you are readmitted, you may still have to submit tuberculosis clearance forms to student health services or a hold may be placed on your file preventing you from enrolling in classes. See http://studenthealth.ucsd.edu/tb.shtml for information on Tuberculosis clearance.

If You Left in Good Academic Standing

  • You must apply for readmission by the quarterly deadline.
  • For Fall Quarter readmission, the deadline is August 15. For Winter or Spring readmission, the deadline will be week 5 of the preceding quarter.
  • You cannot apply for readmission if you have any financial, academic, or disciplinary holds on your records.

If You Left in While on Academic Probation or Subject to Disqualification

  • You must apply for readmission by the quarterly deadline.
  • For Fall Quarter readmission, the deadline is August 15. For Winter or Spring readmission, the deadline will be week 5 of the previous quarter.
  • Readmission is subject to approval by the college Dean of Academic Advising.
  • You cannot apply for readmission if you have any financial, academic, or disciplinary holds on your records.

If You Were Academically Disqualified

If You Graduated from UCSD and Wish to Come Back…

  • Muir College does not allow students to return for a 2nd Bachelor’s degree or as Limited Status (non-degree seeking) students.
  • If you wish to take UCSD courses after graduating from UCSD you must take courses through Summer Session or through the Concurrent Enrollment Program.
