Retroactive Degree Application

If your last course was completed during a quarter which has already ended, you will need to apply for graduation with a Retroactive Degree Form.

If your last term is still in progress-return to http://degree.ucsd.edu to complete the online application.

If you have not yet registered for your last term-you are not eligible to apply for graduation yet. Visit http://degree.ucsd.edu/ after you have registered for your final classes to apply online.

Instructions for Filing for Retroactive Graduation

Complete this form and submit to the Muir Advising Office in one of the following ways:

If your degree audit is clear of deficiencies it will take aproximately 4-6 weeks for your DDA to be processed and your degree conferred. Your diploma will arrive approximately 30-60 days after degree conferral.

Please keep in mind:

Muir College is unable to guarantee a posting date of degree nor able to accept urgent posting requests for retroactive applicants.

Retroactive degree conferrals can take a long time! You can check your status at http://degree.ucsd.edu.

Ultimately it is the student's responsibility to make sure they have met all the requirements for graduation.

Should I complete this application or the online version?

What is my "quarter of graduation"?

Your quarter of graduation is the quarter during which you complete all of your requirements for graduation, whether at UC San Diego or not. For example, if you completed your final class at Mesa College in July 2008, your quarter of graduation would be Summer 2008.

What if I finish at a semester school?

Your quarter of graduation would be the quarter at UC San Diego which corresponds to the end of your class(es) at the semester school. For example, if the semester ends in July 2008, your final quarter would be Summer 08 (because July is during Summer Session at UC San Diego)

Can I use this application to apply for a future quarter of graduation?

Unfortunately not. You must wait until you have registered for your final coursework. After you have registered, you'll be able to apply online at http://degree.ucsd.edu.
