  • Welcome from the Provost, Dean of Academic Advising, and Dean of Student Affairs
  • Student Affairs Overview

  • ... and more!

Please make arrangements to attend the entire session (8:30am-5:00pm)

How do I get there?

Click here for directions to campus.  Look for signs directing you from the campus entrance to the appropriate parking lot.  We will also have signs leading from the parking lot to Orientation check-in.

What if I arrive to campus early?

Orientation check-in starts at 8:30am.  If you arrive early we encourage you to walk around the campus and familiarize yourself with UCSD.

Some points of interest include the Price Center, the UCSD Bookstore, and Geisel Library.  As you walk around take note of the Stuart Art Collection pieces spread throughout the campus.

What about parking?

Complimentary parking permits will be provided by a member from UC San Diego Parking & Transportation Services at the top floor entrance of  The Pangea Parking Structure beginning at 7:30am.  After parking, please follow signs for "Muir College Orientation" to the Orientation Check-In area located in front of McGill Hall.

The parking attendant will be issuing permits from 7:30am-9:30am.  If you before 7:30am, you will need to purchase a parking permit so that you do not receive a parking ticket.

Please note that Muir College is not responsible for parking tickets you might receive.

Will there be food at Orientation?

Yes!  Breakfast and lunch will be provided during Orientation.

Local Hotel and Lodging Information

Lodging is not available through the Transfer Orientation Program.  All lodging accommodations must be made separately.  For information on local hotels that honor a UCSD discount, please visit the Triton Family Destinations website for a list of UCSD's local hotel partners.

For other hotel options, check out the Muir College website.

What should I bring to Orientation?

As we will have Orientation related materials ready for you, a few items we suggest you bring are your check-in information, a reusable water bottle, a light jacket (as some meals and activities will be outdoors), comfortable walking shoes, snacks, and sunscreen.

When do I pay for Orientation?

Students: Orientation will be billed along with your Fall Quarter’s tuition which is available on TritonLink in early September.  Payment for Fall quarter is due on September 25, 2020.  If you receive Financial Aid, you will be able to use it towards the Orientation fee as well as your quarterly tuition.
